The Story
Liquitex Satin Varnish is a 100% acrylic polymer varnish that adds a satin sheen, protects and resists dirt retention. It dries clear to a flexible, non-tacky, hard surface and protects colors from UV light damage.
Liquitex Satin Varnish will increase the brightness and color saturation of your acrylic colours and improves surface durability. It has excellent levelling properties, won't hold brush marks, is semi-opaque when wet and transparent when dry.
To use, stir gently before use and use long, even strokes, covering the surface top to bottom while moving from one side to the other when applying. Don't go over bits you have missed, but leave to dry and then re-varnish area. Apply 1-2 thin coats, allowing at least three hours dry time between coats.
Do not shake or vigorously over-brush as this can result in surface bubbles and a foggy, hazy look when dry. Apply several thin coats, to avoid brush marks, drips and cloudiness but don't go back over areas you have already done, as this can cause clouding.
